End of Winter Term- thesis update

Its hard to believe that the Winter Term is already over! You know what that means, only 10 more weeks until my thesis performance!!
I used this term to finalize all the animations (see screen shots below). The rain animation was done in Flash and is programed completely. Next term I will have to work closely with the engineers to figure out the best way to bring their data into Flash. I will also have to silhouette the footage I get from the theater and bring it into Flash.
The city animation is done. Because this animation follows the rain animation, I had to export the city animation as Flash video and import it into my Flash file.
The end animation that will be projected on fabric has gone through many revisions. Currently, I have two versions that I will need to test when I’m in the theater. The first version is the original idea with boxes of the projected texture moving towards the viewer. The second version is boxes pushing through a plane with a FFD applied to it. This will look like the boxes are pushing behind the video screen on stage. My fellow grad students feel that Version 2 gets the concept across better (technology unsuccessfully trying to push its way through), but my Committee Member feels that Version 1 will integrate the dancers more with the animation.
