Summer Internship

This June I will be interning in New York City for projection artist, Peter Nigrini, on a new musical by Bill T. Jones. The musical will have video projected with several different projectors. The internship will be an excellent opportunity for me to see a professional company’s process of integrating media and theater. My responsibilities will include video research, editing, as well as working in the theater. Unfortunately, I can’t take a leave of absence from ASI so I had to put my two weeks notice in. I am very excited though and I feel like this is a an opportunity I can’t pass up. I will keep you updated over the summer on how the project is going.

ASI Show! New York

I was in New York this week for the ASI Show! New York. I helped with the multimedia design for a party hosted for our clients. The party was Frank Sinatra theme so I created a 1940s nightclub atmosphere by projecting life-size archival video of Ol’ Blue Eyes performing on stage. In between each act, was a Flash animation about the company’s product. We even had video projected of Tim Andrews, the president & CEO of ASI, introducing Frank as if they were on the same stage together. The room was decorated like a restaurant/bar with movie-size posters of the product hanging on the wall illuminated with spotlights. Check out the pictures on flickr.
